JOB TITLE:                  Edit Assistant (Avid)

REPORTING LINE:      Director of Post Production

LOCATION:                Hawley Crescent, London.

CONTRACT:               Fixed Term Contract (1 year initially but potential to extend).


WHO WE ARE

Viacom International Studios UK is the Bafta winning TV Production arm of Viacom in the UK. Our mission is to create great programmes in a variety of genres. We have made programmes for Channel 5, MTV, Spike, 5Star and Comedy Central. We develop and produce a wide range of shows, mainly in the genres of Factual, Comedy, Entertainment and Reality. 


WHAT IS THE ROLE

Due to expansion we are looking for an experienced Edit Assistant to join our busy in-house Post Production department. 


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Media Management, wrangling, ingesting and organising rushes and archive.

Encoding, transcoding and ingesting various digital formats.

Grouping and syncing rushes

Exporting files and creating EDLS.

Preparing edit suites, kit, projects and media for the editors (in Hawley Crescent and remotely via the Cloud)

Preparing conforms and deliverables for online, grade and audio.

Working a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays and extra hours as needed


REQUIRED SKILLS

Excellent knowledge of Avid Media Composer

Experience of using Avid within an Edit Support environment

Knowledge of shared storage systems (Nexis).

Knowledge of file based workflows and formats.

Understanding of latest cameras and formats


NICE TO HAVES

Knowledge of other programmes such as Adobe, Baselight, DaVinci, Protools

Familiarity with Teradici connectivity
