BBC Studios is seeking an Experienced Researcher or AP (shooting experience desirable but not essential) to join our team in making a Weatherman Walking Children In Need Special.
Base: Cardiff. You will be required to work a minimum 3 days a week in our Roath Lock Cardiff production office/edit, when not filming around Wales.
Start Date: 1st of July for 15 weeks approx.
Key Responsibilities:
• Researching compelling stories and contributors.
• Finding compelling contributors.
• Enjoy walking, the outdoors and finding activities the Presenter can get involved in.
• Experience in setting up and scheduling shoots.
• Working on location and supporting the Producer/Director and on-screen talent.
• Operating sound and second camera for VT/postcard segments (desirable).
What We’re Looking For:
• Strong personable and people skills.
• Demonstrate working to deadlines and a tight schedule.
• Proven experience as a TV Researcher or AP with a solid understanding of the production process.
• Strong teamworking ethic and excellent organisational and scheduling skills.
• Comfortable sourcing contributors and facilities via phone and email.
• Experience working with vulnerable groups and a sound understanding of safeguarding practices.
• Excellent knowledge of Wales and its communities.
• A self-starter who thrives both on location and in the office.
Additional Requirements:
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
