Mitre Studios is looking for an outstanding Head of Development to lead our entertainment and formats slate.
This is a senior, hands on role for a creative leader who lives and breathes TV and loves developing bold, returnable ideas built to travel. You’ll drive the development of large scale formats and turn ideas into commissions in the UK and internationally.
If you thrive on pitching, love spotting the next hit, and know how to build formats with scale and longevity, this role is for you.
The Role
- Own and lead Mitre Studios’ entertainment and formats development slate
- Originate big, bold, internationally scalable ideas
- Drive projects from concept through pitch, sizzle, pilot and commission
- Pitch confidently and persuasively to UK and international commissioners
- Build senior level relationships with broadcasters, streamers and partners
- Lead, inspire and energise the development team
- Keep the slate moving fast, focused and ambitious
About You
- Extensive senior level experience in unscripted development
- A strong track record in entertainment formats
- A natural ideas generator with good commercial instincts
- Deep understanding of the UK and international unscripted marketplace
- Confident, compelling pitcher
- Collaborative, decisive and energising to work with
Contract & Working Pattern
- 12 month fixed term contract
- 4 days per week in our London office
- Competitive salary, dependent on experience
