The Production Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of production activities on My Friend Maisy. Acting as a central communication and coordination hub, the role supports the Production Manager and wider team by managing schedules, resources, contracts, suppliers, and production workflows. The Production Coordinator monitors progress against key milestones, coordinates deliverables, tracks risks and dependencies, and ensures stakeholders remain informed and aligned. Through effective organisation, problem-solving, and operational oversight, the role helps maintain compliance, control costs, support production teams, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality content on time and within budget.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

  1. Coordinate day-to-day production activities, ensuring projects remain on schedule, key milestones are achieved, and stakeholders are kept informed of progress and priorities
  2. Manage the flow of production deliverables, resources, facilities, freelancers, and suppliers to support efficient production operations
  3. Coordinate contracts, rights, licences, clearances, and production documentation, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and industry requirements
  4. Support budget management by tracking expenditure, processing supplier costs, monitoring financial information, and assisting with reporting activities
  5. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal departments, external partners, broadcasters, suppliers, freelancers, and production stakeholders
  6. Monitor production systems, workflows, and operational risks, identifying opportunities for process improvement and escalating issues that may impact delivery

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL:

  1. Demonstrable experience of carrying out a logistical coordinating role within a production team as a PC or a highly experienced PMA or Production Secretary
  2. Proven ability to use and advise on production systems and adaptability to new technologies
  3. Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to establish and maintain effective relations with a wide range of contacts        
  4. Demonstratable strong organisational and planning skills and manages conflicting demands to meet deadlines
  5. Necessary business and finance skills to prepare, manage, set and/or monitor specific production resource plans and budgets and buying/booking resources

 

DESIRABLE:

  1. Knowledge of BBC admin systems for travel, finance and post production paperwork (Albert, Silvermouse) is beneficial
