Junior Production Manager - Naturewatch

Dates: 12th of October 2026 – June 2027 (3 days per week)

This role is offered as a PAYE freelance contract subject to greenlight.

Naturewatch is looking for a Junior Production Manager to join the team behind our innovative visualised podcast series, bringing the best in UK wildlife to audiences weekly across linear and digital platforms.

You will play a key role on a small and agile production team. Involving day-to-day management of the series, ensuring robust planning, accurate budgeting and the smooth weekly delivery of content from production through to post-production.

This role is 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage production budget, forecasting and cost reporting, ensuring the series is delivered on budget.
  2. Oversee the filming and post-production schedule in a deadline driven environment, ensuring all deliverables are met across audio, visual and digital outputs.
  3. Coordinate filming and recording activities.
  4. Monitor Health & Safety and sustainability requirements across all production activity.
  5. Support commissioning, production set-up and delivery processes.
  6. Work closely with editorial and creative teams to ensure the visualised podcast is delivered to the highest production standards across all platforms.

About You

  1. Previous experience working on factual, documentary, podcast or digital content productions.
  2. Have multiple credits as a Production Coordinator, with the skills, knowledge and experience to successfully step up into a Junior Production Manager position.
  3. Strong budgeting and financial management skills, confident forecasting, reporting and closely managing production spend.
  4. Demonstrable knowledge of end-to-end production and post-production workflows across audio, video and digital platforms.
  5. Experience managing Health & Safety and sustainability requirements on location and across production.
  6. Excellent organisational, communication and project management skills.
  7. A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to build strong working relationships while managing competing priorities.
  8. A passion for wildlife, nature storytelling and engaging audiences through innovative digital content.
